BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., is pleased to announce that the company’s new Leupold Carbine Optic® (LCO®) has been selected by the Denver Police Department’s SWAT Team as the unit’s CQB optic.

The department’s Special Weapons and Tactics division has ordered LCOs to outfit the highly trained team as they assist Denver police with hostage situations, high-risk warrant service, and other situations requiring tactics above and beyond the ordinary officer’s skill set.

“To receive the confidence from a unit such as Denver SWAT is a testament to the performance and reliability of the Leupold Carbine Optic,” said Bruce Pettet, president and chief executive officer of Leupold & Steven, Inc. “No one takes more pride in contracts such as this than the American employees who build these optics right here in Oregon. Knowing that our optics are relied on by American heroes helps drive our focus on making the most durable product on the market today.”

Developed to meet the demands of the world’s most elite forces, the LCO combines legendary Leupold® ruggedness, optical performance and superior field of view into a single unit. With real-world input from consultants such as U.S. Special Forces legend Kyle Lamb, the LCO keeps the controls below the line of sight, and offers the best field of view in red dot optics.

Hardened for the most challenging of situations, the LCO features a 1 MOA dot, with virtually no “bloom” thanks to Leupold’s advanced lens coatings. Waterproof and fog proof, the LCO offers long battery life and precise ½-MOA adjustments.

For close-quarters battle, such as the type often encountered by SWAT units, nothing is faster on target and less obstructive to maintain situational awareness than the Leupold Carbine Optic.
