ELIGIBILITY: The Leupold Project Hunt Contest (“Promotion”) is offered in and open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and D.C., who are 18 years of age or older. Employees, officers and directors of Leupold & Stevens, Inc. (“Sponsor”), GOHUNT ("Promotion Entity"), its promotion and advertising agencies, and those individuals and entities involved in the execution, preparation of materials and/or administration of this Promotion (collectively referred to herein as the “Promotion Entities”), and their immediate family members (spouse, siblings, children, partners and parents including foster and step-relations) and those living in the same household as such individuals (whether or not related) are not eligible to enter.
PROMOTION PERIOD: The Promotion begins on or about 12:01 am Pacific Time (“PT”) on May 18, 2023 and ends 11:59 pm PT on June 18, 2023 (“Promotion Period”). All time referenced herein is Pacific Time. Sponsor’s Website’s server’s time-keeping device shall be the official time keeping device for the Promotion. ENTRANTS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE CORRESPONDING TIME ZONE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE JURISDICTIONS; PROMOTION ENTITIES DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY RELATING THERETO.
AGREEMENT BY ENTRANT: All Entries, entrants and participation in this Promotion shall be governed by these Official Rules. By participating in the Promotion, each entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to the fullest extent permitted by law to be bound to these Official Rules, the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (referenced below) and any additional instructions, terms and conditions specific to the Promotion communicated by Sponsor. Entrants further agree to be bound to the decisions of the Sponsor (including its authorized representatives), which are final and binding in all matters pertaining to the Promotion.
The information you provide will be used as stated herein and as stated in Sponsor’s privacy policy. By submitting an Entry, entrants agree to be contacted by Sponsor with notices and reminders pertaining to the Promotion. In addition, by opting-in each entrant agrees to receive advertising and promotional communications from Sponsor; you may opt out at any time without affect to your Entry.
HOW TO ENTER: During the Promotion Period, go to https://www.leupold.com/projecthunt (the “Website”), register by providing all required contact information, agree to these Rules, and submit an original 1-2 minute video (with short text description) telling us about your hunt and why you would like Leupold to document your hunt (“Entry”). Limit one (1) Entry per person, per hunt. You may enter multiple times; however, you must register each Entry, each Entry must be entirely different, must relate to a different hunt and be unique, one from the other (as determined by Sponsor), or all but the first Entry will be disqualified. Entrant must reference a scheduled 2023/24 hunt within the U.S. to occur on or before 03/01/2024 for which he/she has hunting tags and license and that is not otherwise ineligible (“qualifying hunt”). Winner will assist Sponsor and videographer to obtain publicity and other releases from hunt operator and other hunt participants as necessary; or else prize will be forfeited. Hunts that are noncompliant, or are otherwise deemed ineligible, inappropriate, too dangerous, or taking place on National Wilderness areas or other National Land that is off limits to commercial filming (in Sponsor’s sole discretion) will be disqualified. Failure to follow all required steps will void Entry.
ENTRY SPECIFICS: Entries must be complete, compliant, submitted via the Website communicated, and received by Sponsor within the Promotion Period. Incomplete, invalid, unsuitable, or otherwise non-compliant Entries (as determined in Sponsor’s absolute discretion) will not be eligible. If, upon review, Sponsor (or its authorized representative) is unable to determine that an Entry and/or entrant is eligible, compliant, or reasonably suspects that it/he/she is not eligible or compliant in whole or in part, the Entry as a whole may be disqualified. Proof that an Entry was uploaded does not constitute proof or evidence that it was received within the Promotion Period or eligible for the Promotion. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Entries submitted via any other entry method than stated herein will not be accepted. entrants may not (whether apparent or suspected) enter with multiple or false identities, accounts, or devices, or use multiple e-mail and/or street addresses, or use any other device or artifice to enter or participate. Engaging directly or indirectly in any (apparent or suspected) artifice, cheating, fraud, spamming, phishing, harassment, on-line clubs (or similar methods), exchange sites, robotic, automatic, macro, programmed or like participation methods as determined in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, will void all such Entries, and disqualify any entrant suspected of using/benefitting from such methods.
Without limiting the foregoing, Entries will be disqualified if Sponsor believes the Entry or any part thereof is not in the spirit of the Promotion or any element thereof, is not compliant, or will have a detrimental impact on Sponsor, this Promotion, or any of Sponsor’s brand, products or services. Furthermore, if an Entry for any reason whatsoever, contains content or garners additional comments that is/are unpleasant, distasteful, nasty or otherwise inappropriate for the Sponsor community (in Sponsor’s absolute sole discretion), Sponsor reserves the unrestricted right to disqualify Entry/entrant and remove any such Entry, as applicable.
Promotion Entities assume no responsibility for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, undelivered, delayed, destroyed, damaged, or misdirected Entries (in whole or in part); or for any equipment, computer, telephone, device, network, Website, platform, app, electronic, hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or (un)availability, or garbled, corrupt, or jumbled transmissions; nor service provider, Intranet/Internet, Website, user accessibility or availability, incompatibility, traffic congestion, unauthorized human intervention or any error (human or not), or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of Entry or other information or any part thereof, nor for the failure to capture or display any such information.

REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT YOUR ENTRY: By submitting an Entry, entrants hereby represent, warrant and covenant (as applicable), and agree to produce written evidence of such if requested, that:
(i) The Entry in whole and in part, is an original work of entrant, is compliant with the Rules, is original to the entrant, does not violate or appear to infringe upon any laws, rules, regulations, proprietary or intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights), or any other laws, regulations, or rights whatsoever of any country, person and/or entity, and will not bring Sponsor or the Promotion Entities into public disrepute, scandal or embarrassment;
(ii) The Entry in whole and in part, is submitted to the Promotion by or with the permission of all hunt outfitters/organizations, persons (living or deceased), venues and/or business entities who worked on, were engaged to work on, or contributed in any respect to the Entry or any part thereof, or who are referenced or depicted (directly or indirectly) in the Entry by name, likeness, voice, image or any other information or indicia of persona, or who otherwise have any right, title and interest in and to the Entry or any part thereof (including but not limited to rights arising from employment or work for hire relationship), and all such persons, venues, and/or business entities have provided their written consent to submission of the Entry and its use pursuant to these Rules;
(iii) Entrant has all other rights, licenses, permissions and consents necessary to submit the Entry for the uses contemplated and to assign the Entry to the Sponsor as provided in these Rules, and the exercise thereof by the Sponsor or any other Promotion Entity of the rights granted by entrant, in whole or in part, does not and will not give rise to any alleged or actual claims, disputes, damages, actions or liabilities, including but not limited to those for disputes or payment of any kind, including without limitation royalties, residuals, attribution, credit, dues, approval or consultation rights, or any rights of participation, attribution, or any other fees, costs, or expenses, arising out of the submission, use, exhibition and/or any other use or exploitation of the Entry in whole and in part, the use and exercise by Promotion Entities of any of the rights granted in these Rules;
(iv) The Entry in whole or in part contains no malware, including viruses, trojans, worms, bugs, spyware or any other harmful software, code or other devices;
(v) The Entry does not depict, refer to or contain in any respect information about an individual under the age of 13; and
(vi) The Entry in whole or in part does not violate the Rules, does not contain or promote racist, sexist, pornographic or sexually explicit (including nudity), defamatory, offensive, violent, harmful, unsafe, dangerous, illegal, discriminatory, cruel, abusive, highly political, religious or sensitive content or activities, swear words, course content, or content of an obscene or menacing character, and does not otherwise appear to condone or promote cruelty, bigotry, hatred or harm against any animal, group or individual, or to promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age, or offend against reasonable standards of taste and decency.
GENERAL ENTRY CONDITIONS: Once submitted, Entries may not be cancelled or deleted, enhanced, added to, or improved, and will not be returned, if applicable. The Entry may be publicly displayed, viewed and used by the Promotion Entities in whole or in part, as provided herein and by others interested in, involved with, or administering the Promotion. Nothing herein shall be deemed an obligation of confidentiality. Any third-party copyrighted works, or trademarks, logos, brand names, etc. (“Third-party IP”) or any other intellectual property in an Entry must not be used commercially and must appear only perfunctorily and in the background to the Entry; all such Third-party IP are the property of their respective owners, which are not sponsors or affiliated with this Promotion in any way. Entrants understand and agree to assume the risk that their Entry and any element thereof may, in whole or in part, be identical or similar to any other Entry, that comments to an Entry may or may not affect such Entry’s score, that one Entry may regardless receive varying scores from another Entry, and entrants release and hold Promotion Entities harmless from same.
FULL ASSIGNMENT OF OWNERSHIP: In consideration for the opportunity to participate in the Promotion by submitting an Entry, at the time an Entry is submitted and whether or not selected as a winner, entrants irrevocably transfer and assign in its entirety in perpetuity to Sponsor all right, title and interest (full transfer of ownership) in and to their Entry and all content therein including but not limited to, the right to secure the copyright and the registration, renewal, derivative and moral rights relating thereto and all income, royalties, and payments now or hereafter due or payable with respect thereto (and agree to execute all documents and perform all acts deemed necessary by Sponsor to perfect and record the transfer and assignment) throughout the world, without any restriction or obligation as to use (“Assignment”). Entrants understand and agree by granting this Assignment their Entry may be modified, edited, distorted, used in whole or in part, alone or in combination with other works, used in illusory or composite form, or in any other manner, as solely determined by Sponsor in any media and medium whatsoever now known or hereinafter developed (including without limitation print, broadcast, radio, internet, and posted throughout Sponsor’s and (unrelated) third parties’ digital, on-line, and off-line social media, marketing and advertising properties, and/or any other media/medium through-out the world) without further compensation or review. Entrants will not now nor in the future be further paid for their Entry or for this Assignment.
JUDGING/WINNER SELECTION: Subject to verification of eligibility and execution of the applicable Release Documents, one (1) potential Grand Prize winner will be selected by a neutral panel of judges selected by Sponsor, from all eligible Entries received pursuant to the highest score assessed by the Judges based on the following weighted Judging Criteria:
(i) Compelling reason/story for wanting their hunt filmed (60%);
(ii) Originality (10%); and
(iii) Entrant’s perceived on-camera personality/brand worthiness, and hunt suitability for videography (30%).
Sponsor reserves the right to award more than the stated number of winners based on quality of entries. In case of a tie, the Entries, among those tied, will be either be re-judged in accordance with the highest score in the compelling category. The display of any Entry shall not be deemed to constitute Sponsor’s representation or agreement that the Entry is, in whole or in part, compliant with the Rules, or eligible for continuation in the Promotion, judging or prize award. It is anticipated that prize winner will be notified via email or telephone (In Sponsor’s discretion) on or about approx. August 13, 2023. Sponsor reserves the right not to select a winner in its reasonable discretion due, for example, to insufficient eligible and qualified Entries. Decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding in all respects.
Potential winner must follow all instructions and may be required to sign, have notarized and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (except where prohibited) and any other requested documents (“Release Documents”) within the time specified by Sponsor, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety and awarded to an alternate winner based on next highest score.
Promotion Entities are not responsible for any undelivered prize notifications, Release Documents, telephone calls, messages, e-mails, or any other communications, including but not limited to those that are not received because of entrant’s privacy, junk or spam filter settings that may divert any potential winner notification or other Promotion related communications to a spam or junk folder. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
GRAND PRIZE (1)/Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): Assuming sufficient eligible Entries are received, and subject to verification and compliance, the Grand Prize consists of the following:
- A professional videographer supplied by Leupold for the duration of winner’s qualifying U.S. hunt (filming up to a max. of 7 days in duration) (ARV: $20,000, but depends on location and other details of hunt);
- A limited series or short film produced by Leupold which may be released on Youtube in 2024 (Leupold to determine, and Leupold reserves the right NOT to publish a series/film if the final product is deemed inappropriate (in its sole discretion. Leupold owns all rights to footage and final product) (promotional value only);
- Personalized photo package from hunt (fourty (40) photo selections provided via digital download) (promotional value only);
- A Leupold optics package, anticipated but not guaranteed to consist of: VX-3HD Riflescope (ARV: $699.99), BX-4 Pro Guide HD Binos (ARV: $499.99), Pro Guide 2 Bino Pack (ARV: $99.99), SX-4 Pro Guide HD Spotter (ARV: $799.99), RX-1400i Gen2 Rangefinder (ARV: $199.99), and Performance Eyewear (ARV: $189.99). Total ARV of optics package: $2489.94; AND
- One year annual GOHUNT Insider membership (ARV: $149)
Total ARV of Grand Prize: USD $22,638.94.
Limit one (1) prize during the entire Promotion Period. IMPORTANT NOTICE: the hunt, all arrangements relating to the hunt, lodging and transportation, food, tags, licenses and all other costs and expenses relating to the hunt are the sole responsibility and cost of the winner. Winner must be knowledgeable about all applicable hunting laws/regulations for the area in which they are hunting and will be required to release Leupold from any and all responsibility relating to the hunt and/or any hunting or other violations. A qualifying hunt must be scheduled at the time of entry, or else potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. All federal, state and local taxes on a prize are the sole responsibility of a U.S. winner. Prize will be shipped to winner’s legal residence within the U.S. (at Sponsor’s expense) on or within approx. 6-8 weeks after verification. Any difference in ARV and actual value will not be awarded in cash or otherwise. No transfer, assignment or substitution of a prize (in whole or in part) is allowed, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or any part of a prize with one of equal or greater value. Prize is not redeemable for cash or otherwise. All costs, fees and expenses not expressly stated as being included herein are the sole responsibility of a winner. Winner is solely responsible for the safe, legal and appropriate participation in the hunt, the use of all prizes, for obtaining all insurance, permits, and payment of all fees, costs, expenses and equipment necessary relating to the prize or any element thereof.
In the event of noncompliance, if an entrant becomes noncompliant or ineligible during or after the Promotion Period, or a potential winner fails to respond within the time specified, or cannot be reached within two (2) separate attempts using the contact method selected by Sponsor (in Sponsor’s discretion), that prize will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner will be selected based on the next highest score for the applicable prize/level. A winner later found ineligible or non-compliant will be immediately required to forfeit or return any prize awarded. Prize or prize notifications that are un-awarded, unclaimed, returned, unresponsive, untimely, or otherwise undeliverable will be forfeited and will not be re-awarded. Any prize pictured in advertising or promotional materials is for illustrative purposes only and may not be the actual prize or have the same elements or features as the prize awarded. Except for any standard manufacturer’s warranty PRIZES ARE AWARDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AS TO THEIR QUALITY OR CONDITION AND PROMOTION ENTITIES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SUITABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Prize award is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right, but without any obligation whatsoever, to conduct a voluntary background check on a potential winner, and such individual agrees to cooperate, to confirm eligibility and to help ensure that awarding a prize to any such individual will not bring the Promotion Entities into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavorably on the Promotion, the Sponsor, prize suppliers, or their respective brands, goods or services, as determined by Sponsor in its absolute discretion.
GENERAL RELEASE: Failure to timely return or properly complete Release Documents, or if potential winner is or becomes ineligible or does not comply with these Official Rules, prize forfeiture will result and (an) alternate potential winner(s) will be selected. BY PARTICIPATING, ENTRANTS AGREE TO RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, DEFEND AND HOLD HARMLESS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW THE SPONSOR, ITS PARENT, AFFILIATES AND SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS (“RELEASED PARTIES”) FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL ALLEGED AND/OR ACTUAL CLAIMS, ACTIONS, DEMANDS, LOSSES, SETTLEMENTS (WHETHER OR NOT LITAGATION IS COMMENCED), LIABILITIES AND DAMAGES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER EXISTING NOW OR ARISING IN THE FUTURE (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, BODILY INJURY, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, DISABILITY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS), COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES, COURT COSTS, SETTLEMENT AND DISBURSEMENTS) DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY ARISING IN WHOLE OR IN PART FROM THE USE OF THE ENTRY IN WHOLE OR IN PART, THE DELIVERY, ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF A PRIZE, PARTICIPATION IN ANY PRIZE RELATED ACTIVITIES, ACCESS TO THE WEBSITE, AND/OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROMOTION OR ANY OTHER ELEMENT THEREOF. To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants and winner(s) covenant not to sue any Released Party or cause them to be sued regarding any matter released above; and further covenant not to disaffirm, limit or rescind this release. A waiver by one or more of the Promotion Entities of any term in these Official Rules does not constitute a waiver of any other provision. Any invalid, illegal or unenforceable provision shall be deemed severed from these Rules only to the extent of its invalidity, illegality or unenforceability, and these Rules shall be construed and enforced as if they did not contain the stricken provision.
PUBLICITY RELEASE: By entering and/or accepting a prize, entrants and winner(s) hereby consent, where lawful, to the use by Sponsor (and its authorized representatives) of their name, image, likeness, voice, hometown, and/or biographical information (including the right to edit, adapt, crop, and modify such information or use it in illustrative, or composite form, alone or in conjunction with other materials), in any and all media now known or hereafter developed worldwide, including and on cellular networks, the Internet and World Wide Web, and social media, and other online and digital properties, without additional compensation, and without the right of review, notification or approval.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THIS PROMOTION OR ANY ELEMENT THEREOF, PARTICIPATION IN ANY PROMOTION ACTIVITIES, PARTICIPATION IN PRIZE RELATED ACTIVITIES OR ANY ELEMENT THEREOF, THE USE/MISUSE OF A PRIZE BY ANYONE, AND/OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ANY PARTICIPANT’S ACCESS TO AND USE OF (OR FAILURE TO ACCESS OR USE) THE PROMOTIONAL WEBSITES, OR THE DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING OF MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM THE WEBSITE.
If, for any reason, this Promotion or any element thereof is not capable of running as planned by reason of, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, artifice, cheating or fraud, equipment, software, hardware, network or technical failures, or any other causes which Sponsor deems, in its sole opinion, could corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion or any element thereof, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion or any element thereof and select the winner(s) for the applicable prize/prize level from eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the action, or as otherwise may be deemed fair by Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for user cheating or fraud by any entrants. Any activities intended to disrupt or interfere with the proper play of the Promotion or defraud Sponsor in any way will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. entrants who engage in any of the foregoing activities will be disqualified and will forfeit any prize won.
In the event that technological, programming, printing, erroneous communications, human or other error causes more than the stated number of winners/prizes as indicated in these Official Rules, to be communicated, sent as notifications, distributed, announced, claimed or received for any prize, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award only the stated number and description of prizes among all eligible non-suspect claimants or as otherwise deemed fair by Sponsor. In the event of any discrepancy, ambiguity, inconsistency, printing or any other error or miscommunication in an app, any emails, announcements, advertising, brochures, Promotion materials and/or any other communications or information relating to this Promotion or any element thereof, these Official Rules (English version, if applicable) shall govern.
FORCE MAJEURE: Promotion Entities shall not be liable to winner or any other person or entity for failure to execute this Promotion or any element thereof, or supply a prize or any part thereof, by reason of any act of God, any action(s), regulation(s) order(s) or request(s) by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) prove(s) to be invalid), equipment failure, terrorist acts, cyber-attacks, earthquake, war, fire, flood, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal), labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, cancellation or delay of an event, epidemic or pandemic, or any similar or dissimilar event beyond their reasonable control.
CHOICE OF LAW/ARBITRATION: THIS PROMOTION IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF OREGON WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Promotion, except where prohibited by law, entrants agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a neutral, binding one person arbitration panel located in Beaverton, OR having jurisdiction.
