Leupold & Stevens, Inc., is pleased to announce that Leupold Pro Shooter Doug Koenig has won the 2019 Bianchi Cup Europe event, held last month in Philippsburg, Germany. Koenig ran a new-for-2019 Leupold Freedom RDS on his competition pistol on the way to capturing his sixth Bianchi Cup Europe title.

Much like the USA-based Bianchi Cup – of which Koenig is an 18-time champion – Bianchi Cup Europe is an action pistol-style championship that demands accuracy and precision. Action shooting consists of four stages: a practical stage, a barricade stage, a falling plate stage, and a moving target stage.

“There aren’t many competitions as challenging as Bianchi Cup – whether I’m shooting it in the United States or in Europe,” Koenig said. “The competition is fierce, and any one mistake can cost you a chance at the title. Having top-tier equipment is paramount to success, and it’s why I run Leupold whenever optics are permitted.”

A tubular red dot sight built for shooters and hunters alike, the Freedom RDS is available in two distinct models: One features capped precision ¼-MOA click adjustments, the other a precision exposed BDC elevation turret that ships with measurements out to 500 yards for standard 55-grain .223 Rem. ammunition. The RDS is designed to install easily with an included mount that sits at the optimal sight height for use on AR-style rifles. That said, it can also be removed and mounted using any 34mm rings. The scratch-resistant lenses feature Leupold’s Twilight Red Dot System, which delivers standard color consistency and premium lens clarity. Both iterations feature a 1-MOA dot and up to 80 MOA of adjustment in both elevation and windage.

“Consumers have been asking for an American-made red dot that pairs relentless performance with incredible value,” said Joshua Bechard, Marketing Partnerships Specialist for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “Doug’s success while running the RDS at Bianchi Cup Europe proves that we’ve delivered on that task, and more.”
