Rob Furlong

In March 2002, Furlong set the record for the longest confirmed sniper kill in combat. His shot in Afghanistan’s Shah-i-Kot Valley was taken from 2,430 meters—more than a mile and a half. The former sniper with the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry is regarded as Canada’s best sniper, was featured in the book Ultimate Sniper, has been decorated by the United States for his efforts, and was a member of the Canadian sharpshooting six-man Recon Sniper Cell with 3 P.P.C.L.I.

An ever-passionate shooter, Rob now runs Rob Furlong’s Marksmanship Academy, which aims to create a place where shooters of all levels and backgrounds can come to take their training to new heights.
