Jim Smith


Jim Smith is a former U.S. Army Ranger and Special Forces operator. He was wounded when his Black Hawk helicopter was shot down in Mogadishu in 1993. The story of the crash and ensuing firefight led to the best-selling novel and movie “Black Hawk Down.” A Silver Star, Purple Heart, and Legion of Merit award winner, Smith currently trains U.S. military and law enforcement forces in addition to being one of Leupold’s leading tactical experts.
