Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for long range Got this scope a few years back for my 6.5x284 Norma, Absolutely love it!!! I sent it back to get the CDS dials put in it for my ballistics and although I am shooting a fairly slow load i can still get out to 950 yards with a 200 yard zero, clicks are dead on and have never had a problem, went to Wyoming for an antelope hunt and between 4 of us we used one gun (mine) and shot 8 antelope (3 bucks, 5 does), nothing was inside of 400 yards with the longest shot at 620 yards. Couldn't have asked for a better scope!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fantastic Scope This is one of the easiest to use and easy to see pics known to mankind. I love my Leopold scope. Whether it's dawn, during the bright daylight or dusk, yu can still see a bright clear image with minimal highlighting. The image is crisp, clear and easily obtainable with minimal effort. It allows youth concentrate on your target and not on your scope. I wouldn't trade my Leopold for anything.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Please explain I have 2different leupold nowVXI 3-9 X 50 on a T3 tikka 223 & VXIII 4.5-12 X 50 on a 22-250 rem 700 use use these all the time shooting professionally my use up to 200 rounds a week and can head shoot game up to 300m away the clarity is great cause I shoot from dust to dawn all night but why do both scopes will all off a sudden shoot out by two clicks up or down left or right some times both. The do it out of the blue they don't get knocked 'missed treated so can anyone put any light on this problem I have made sure everything is tight. Nothing loose on scopes or rifles

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Rifle Scope! I have been using this rifle scope for 5 years now hunting out in the field and I particularly love the low light capabilty and clarity of this scope. Even more impressive to me has been how tough and durable this scope has been for me, I crawl through thick bush and trees on a regular basis while searching for game. I had a scare like no other one morning as I was headed out to hunt while driving my quad with my rifle mounted in the atv tek rifle/bow holder. I was driving along at about 30mph when I hit an unexpected bump and my rifle broke through the rubber bands that hold it in place. I heard it smack the ground behind me and make an uncomfortable vibration noise. I was devastated in the moment until I got back to my rifle sitting there on the ground. Everything looked just fine other than a few scratches. I was relieved however I couldn't continue hunting with checking my zero and to my surprise it was still dead on! That happened 3 years ago and I have shot a nice antelope and buck since that occasion. So thanks to Leupold for building tough optics for us hunters and sportsman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear optics in any conditions Best scope I have used yet. The low profile bell makes it comfortable to aim and the clarity is amazing. I've shot 2 moose and a few elk now with it and have no complaints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looked nice in box It looked nice in box, but was worthless when mounted. Used Leupold std mounts and rings on Remington 700 and there is not enough adjustment to bring on target, so according to instructions I am suppose to shim with a beer can or something like that. I spent $800 for a scope that I have to shim, won't ever buy this junk again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing low light clarity! I have had this scope for a few years now, and it has been the best one I have owned. I bought this scope after having a missed opportunity on a nice buck due to poor low light quality on my old scope. Needless to say, this was the right choice. Even on cloudy days near dusk or dawn, I can clearly see this scope. The only downside is it only fits in one of my horse scabbards and is still a tight fit.

Xtended Twilight Lens System

Now your hunt can reach further into the twilight than ever before possible, with our exclusive new Xtended Twilight Lens System™. It goes a step further than even the Index Matched Lens System®, using Leupold’s® index matched glass with wavelength specific lens coatings designed to optimize the transmission of low-light wavelengths. When most scope manufacturers quote percentage of light transmission, they usually mean at 550 nm, the green wavelength where the human eye is most sensitive. The challenge is that in twilight conditions, green light disappears and blue/violet light takes over. Your eye is already handicapped when it comes to seeing the blue/violet spectrum, and if your scope is cutting too much of it out, soon you won’t be seeing anything. The Xtended Twilight Lens System places extra emphasis on matching coatings to glass indices to achieve the best possible transmission of the blue/violet spectrum, without sacrificing the color balanced light transmission across the visual spectrum of the Index Matched Lens System. When we combine that with superior computer-generated optical design, lead-free lenses of unsurpassed clarity and quality, and 100 years of manufacturing excellence, you have a scope that gives you the details of low-light scenes in greater definition and luminance than any other scope in the world.

DiamondCoat 2

Exterior lens surfaces are treated with DiamondCoat 2™, an ion-assist lens coating, for higher light transmission and the greatest level of abrasion resistance we’ve ever offered. DiamondCoat already exceeds military standards for hardness and durability. DiamondCoat 2 offers unsurpassed durability and will prove its worth in the wildest places on earth. DiamondCoat 2 has the additional advantage of assisting in light transmission, for greater brightness, clarity and contrast.

2nd Generation Argon/Krypton Waterproofing

While we still waterproof other optics with bone-dry nitrogen – technology pioneered by Leupold® – Select models feature our exclusive, proprietary Argon/Krypton gas blend. Its advantages are two fold: it nearly eliminates the effects of thermal shock, and the Argon/Krypton molecules are significantly larger than nitrogen molecules, reducing the diffusion of gases sealed inside your scope even more than our proven nitrogen technology already does. We pioneered riflescope waterproofing, and now with Argon/Krypton we’re exceeding the standards we set ourselves.

Generous Eyebox

The generous eyebox makes it faster and easier to get your eye behind the riflescope and achieve a full, clear sight picture. Setting up for longer shots you'll appreciate the flexibility it affords, and in close up big game or dangerous game situations the quick target acquisition will be the difference maker. At high power, the longer eye relief and more generous eyebox gives you incredible head position latitude and an improved sight pictue that fills the eyepiece completely - putting you in better position to make the shot of a lifetime.

Blackened Lens Edges

Blackened lens edges reduce unwanted glare and diffusion through the lens edges to provide better resolution, improved contrast and superior optical perrformance.

Light Optimization Profile

The crescent removed from the lower radius of the objective forms the Light Optimization Profile™, which gives you the low-light advantages of a large objective lens, while hugging the rifle for a lower mount and more comfortable, secure cheekweld. The 50mm VX-3L® mounts as low as a 36mm riflescope, yet delivers 48.6 percent more Total Light Throughput™ (TLT). Likewise, the 56mm VX-3L mounts like a 40mm, and delivers 96 percent more TLT. You’ll also appreciate the uninterrupted, circular field of view, the improved balance, and the quick, accurate aiming that comes with a low-mount cheekweld. While the objective of the VX-3L and has a crescent, your sight picture remains perfectly circular, with crisp, edge-to-edge sharpness across the entire visual field.
