Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Scope I recently purchased the Mark AR Mod 1 1.5-4x20mm, and I couldn't be more pleased with it's performance so far. I mounted the scope to my Daniel Defense MK 18 SBR, also running a SilencerCo Saker 556 suppressor, and the results are fantastic. After a short range trip to zero the scope, I was quickly shooting less that 1-inch groupings at 100 yards. The best group of the day was much less than 1-inch. Scope was easy to zero, the clarity of the optic is better than any I've seen, and the scope and mount seem durable enough to handle anything I throw it's way. This is my first Leupold scope, but will definitely not be my last! Can't wait to take this out in the field for coyote hunting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Optic for Service Rifle Bought the 1.5x4 Mark AR over the winter to use in the new EIC/high power rules allowing optics in Service rifle competition. So far, have fired 3 matches. 2 full course to 600 and one 300m reduced. Adjustments track true and hold, optics very clear. Am able to spot, correct and fire quickly in good conditions without breaking position to look through a spotting scope. Parallax is an issue at 600 yards. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I would like to see Leupold come out with a more service rifle specific scope. I think it would be popular with LR varmint and hobby shooters as well. Mil dot or MOA dot reticle, fixed 4x, calibrated for 77 gr SMK, adjustable parallax or parallax set for 300 yards would do. You'd have a hit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal In search of more optical power than your VXII 4-12x40 for my extremely accurate Rem 504 22 LSHB, your Mark AR Mod 1 6-18x40 seemed a good place to start. Long story short, it went smooth as glass from the gitgo, culminating in consecutive 3 shot ragged hole groups,1/2" high at 50 yds. Enough said, Perfect !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made this years Hunt on my 30-06 Rem 700! I love this scope so much, I'm looking to put one on my AR coyote rifle. I put the 4-12 mil-dot on my 30-06 Remington 700 hunting rifle and took 3 Wyoming Antelope this season. One @400 yards and another @497 yards- both in wind, clean one shot kills. Even made a 1st attempt hit on 20 inch round steel at 1160 yards. Also you can't beat Leupold's Customer Service and Warranty depts. Thanks to Alan Ransom at Leupold for recommending this!.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scope, as usual! I bought this for a standard AR with a 16" barrel and couldn't be happier with the clarity and performance. This scope is great for the price! This is my 4th Leupold rifle scope, I have Leupold binos, a spotting scope, range finder and I am a lifer. I have plans for a few more rifles and they will have Leupold scopes. My oldest scope is about 18 years old and I just had a CDS dial put in. Leupold buffed all the scratches out of the body and the lenses free of charge. I basically have a new scope. That is service, folks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally a Leupold < $600 with mil dot I purchased the Mark AR MOD 6 x18 mil dot and have been very impressed with its performance. The most important feature to me is the mil dot reticle, which has been what I expected. The high level of magnification is also a big plus. The reticle adjustments track well. The scope is very clear. The scope and mount (Leupold Mark II IMS) have held zero under some unfortunate drops of the rifle. The field of vision is adequate on max power. This optic is a pretty good product. The overall value of the optic is about average, the MOD AR has some strong piers at it's $550 price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp and SUPER CLEAR I bought my Leupold AR Scope 4x12x40 scope for my 300 black out AR-15. I use this to hunt hogs in the middle of Florida. Majority of the time I'm hunting a swamp like area. With all the dew in the mornings most scopes fog up and are unclear until the sun can warm up the air. With my Leupold that doesn't happen. I'm free of any worry to hunt early morning because my Scope is Crystal Clear. I never have an issue with it. You know they say your scope is just as, if not more, important as the gun you put it on. With Leupold you get what you pay for and more. I'll never trust another scope more than my Leupold. I'm currently building a 300 Blackout SBR and I'm hoping to add another Leupold to the family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using this for CMP service rifle I'm having great results with this scope. Parallax is fixed at 150 yards. Per the manual, "Maximum parallax occurs when your eye is at the very edge of the exit pupil (Even in this unlikely event, our 4x hunting scope focused for 150 yards has a maximum error of only 8/10ths of an inch at 500 yards)." So, if you hold your head way off to the side where you can just barely see the intersection of the crosshair, parallax issues on this scope at 600 yards are an inch at most. And who holds their head like that anyway? The clicks are true so far. Although, I'd probably be a liar if I told you that I could put on one click (1/3 minute... which is 1/10 mil), and see the difference on the target at 600 yards. I can't hold 1/3 minute. The green dot is awesome. Battery life is excellent. The first time I saw it that green dot, I knew I had to have it. So I bought two. Both are mounted in the Larue LT-104 mount (1.5" height, and 2.0" offset). Face-mashing, stock-crawlers prefer lower, and more offset. There is nothing about the mount I would change for my own use. For $400, you can't do better. Gary J. -- Virginia

Multicoat 4

Light reflecting off lens surfaces diminishes image quality. So Leupold® engineers developed Multicoat 4®, our own proprietary lens coating system to keep image quality pristine. Multicoat 4 greatly increases the amount of all available light that reaches your eye, while at the same time, it minimizes the reflections of the sky on the outer eyepiece. You’ll never be able to control the light, but with Leupold’s Multicoat 4, you can always make the most of it.

2nd Generation Argon/Krypton Waterproofing

While we still waterproof other optics with bone-dry nitrogen – technology pioneered by Leupold® – Select models feature our exclusive, proprietary Argon/Krypton gas blend. Its advantages are two fold: it nearly eliminates the effects of thermal shock, and the Argon/Krypton molecules are significantly larger than nitrogen molecules, reducing the diffusion of gases sealed inside your scope even more than our proven nitrogen technology already does. We pioneered riflescope waterproofing, and now with Argon/Krypton we’re exceeding the standards we set ourselves.

Dual Use

Outstanding accuracy, legendary ruggedness, and absolute waterproof integrity. All Leupold® optics offer performance that makes them equally at home in hunting or tactical environments. Leupold Long Range/Tactical riflescopes are excellent choices for both long-range hunting and varminting. Likewise long-range competitive shooters and members of the Fifty Caliber Shooters Association – men and women who shoot competitively at ranges of 600 yards or more – rely on the accuracy and durability of these scopes. See overview of each product for more detailed information on hunting, shooting, and competition applications.
